Simonsen backing Speed

Sheffield United goalkeeper Steve Simonsen is confident new boss Gary Speed will be a success given time and admits three points is the club`s immediate focus. The Blades take on Derby at Pride Park on Saturday, and experienced shot-stopper Simonsen wants his team to carry on where they left off before the break when they claimed three points against Preston. Simonsen told the club`s official website: "It always seems to be the case with an international break, you just get going, get that first win then up pops the break when everyone just wants to get back out there and gain some momentum." Commenting on new manager Speed, he added: "Obviously Gary has got his own ideas but he hasn't come in gung-ho and changed everything. "Things will change but it will be a gradual process rather than flipping the coin straight over to the other side."
