Sheffield United and Sean O'Driscoll granted permission to open talks by Doncaster

Highly rated: Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll[LNB]Sean O'Driscoll has been given permission to talk with Sheffield United over their managerial vacancy but Doncaster chief executive David Morris remains confident he will opt to stay with the club.[LNB]O'Driscoll, 53, is among the favourites to become the Blades' third manager this season following Gary Speed's decision to take charge of the Wales national team and Rovers chairman John Ryan has given his local rivals the go ahead to start negotiations. [LNB]But Morris said: 'I think, right at this moment, there's a good chance Sean will remain at Doncaster Rovers.
