Clough to recall big guns

Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough is expected to make wholesale changes for the home game against Leyton Orient.

Clough named 11 different players in his starting line-up for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Hartlepool, while striker Michael Higdon sits out the second game of his three-match ban.

Defender Paddy McCarthy, on loan from Crystal Palace, is expected to make his home debut and striker Jose Baxter (hamstring) could return to league action after playing 45 minutes on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper Mark Howard, defenders Craig Alcock and Neill Collins, plus midfielder Stefan Scougall are among those pushing for recalls.

Orient are set to be without Mathieu Baudry after he limped off against Dagenham in midweek.

The French defender suffered a hamstring injury in the first half and was replaced by former Blades loanee Shane Lowry, who is now likely to start against his old club.

Baudry is added to a growing casualty list which also includes David Mooney (ankle), Lloyd James (broken leg), Adam Legzdins (finger), Gary Sawyer (knee) and Kevin Lisbie (shoulder).

Jay Simpson will be hoping his two goals against the Daggers - his first since joining the O's - will have secured his place in the starting line-up at Bramall Lane.
