Sheff Utd V Bournemouth at Bramall Lane : Match Preview

31 August 2012 15:51
Porter blow for Blades Sheffield United striker Chris Porter will miss Saturday's clash with Bournemouth after having an injection for the knee injury that has kept him out all season. Darryl Westlake has overcome a thigh problem but manager Danny Wilson is unlikely to take a risk on his fitness. Matt Hill played in place of Marcus Williams in the left-back slot during the last two games and is expected to keep his place in the side. Summer signings Nick Blackman and John Cofie are expected to be Wilson's strike pairing but Shaun Miller is vying for a place in the starting line-up after impressing from the substitutes bench against Colchester. Midfielder Nick Montgomery and striker Richard Cresswell, the club's top two wage earners, are not expected to feature once again as they have both been placed on the transfer list. Bournemouth will be without Harry Arter as they continue their search for their first win of the season. The midfielder picked up two yellow cards in the 1-1 home draw against Preston, the Cherries' third successive league draw, and will be suspended for the game at Bramall Lane. Joe Partington was also forced off the field against the Lilywhites after falling awkwardly, but he is likely to remain available following the precautionary substitution. Bournemouth's 40-year-old striker Steve Fletcher was rested at the weekend, but may return to manager Paul Groves' squad to face the Blades. Summer signing Richard Hughes is yet to make an appearance for the Cherries so far this season, and looks set to continue to miss out as he seeks to improve his match fitness. Charlie Sheringham (foot), Josh McQuoid (foot), and Frank Demouge (knee) are all nearing a return from their respective injuries, but Wes Fogden (shoulder) is a more long-term absentee.
