O'Driscoll on Blades radar

Sheffield United are 'ready to open talks' with Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll in regards to becoming their new boss... Sky Sports are reporting that the Blades are poised to approach South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster about luring their highly praised manager away from the Keepmoat. It is rumoured that O'Driscoll is in the frame to fill the available spot as Blades manager, and Sky Sports have indicated that United hope to open talks with Rovers. Many Blades fans had been calling for the appointment of O'Driscoll when Kevin Blackwell was sacked earlier this year, and their opinions have not changed of the 53-year-old. SUFC Chief Executive Trevor Birch yesterday (Tuesday) stated that he has a 'personal favourite' candidate, and that this man would be 'tricky to bring in'. O'Driscoll managed Bournemouth for six years, and has established Doncaster as a force to be reckoned with in the Championship.
