Sheffield United have signed Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old, who made 19 appearances on loan at the npower Championship club last season, will return to Bramall Lane for the new campaign. "We made no secret of the fact that we were looking for defenders and that Nyron was a high priority of ours," Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website. "Whilst we were - and still are - monitoring other alternatives, he fits the bill in every way, not least because we know what he can do and he fitted in well (last season)." "He is a strong individual with bags of experience and he desperately wants to do well for this club because he knows the potential we have." Nosworthy, who has made 124 appearances for the Black Cats after joining in summer 2005, is one of several members of manager Steve Bruce's squad who were told they could look for moves this summer.
