No cause for concern

Two losses to lower league opposition is no shame. Some fans fail to take into consideration a number of things... I attened both of our games so far on English soil; Mansfield and Burton away. A 1:0 loss to both sides may be disappointing on the eye, but fans must'nt read too much into pre-season matches, in my honest opinion. Some fans are genuinely calling for Kevin Blackwell's head already because of the pre-season results. The Blades may have a won the Maltese Cup last week, and there's no hiding the fact that Mansfield and Burton beating us is unsurprising, but pre-season results mean nothing. There were a few players who shone last (Tuesday) night; most notably Mark Yeates. Daniel Bogdanovic put a good shift in and was only denied by the Brewers' veteran shot-stopper Kevin Poole. Fitness, getting in the correct shape, trying out new styles and gelling with new team mates is what pre-season is all about. What also some fans exempt is that the team has been littered with triallists and up and coming stars from Shirecliffe. I'm confident, come the start of the season, United will have a much sterner side pitting their wits against Cardiff on the 8th August. Let's stop the over the top reactions, let's hope the lads get through pre-season unscathed and are fit and raring to go come early August.
