The 23-year-old, who has played for England at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level, joined the Blades on a free transfer in the summer after rejecting a new offer from Premier League side West Ham.

The left-winger is in contention to make his Addicks debut when Charlton take on Tranmere at The Valley on Saturday.

Reid told the club's official website: "I'm very happy to be here and I'm pleased Phil Parkinson has given me this opportunity," Reid told his club's official website.

"Kevin Blackwell, my manager at Sheffield United, said I could go out on loan, and once I heard Charlton were interested, I knew it was a good opportunity.

"This is a big club which is trying to get back where it belongs and hopefully I can do my bit."
