Nick Montgomery goals are certainly a rarity, but the Blades midfielder has targeted to chip in with a couple more this season... On Tuesday night, Montgomery astonishingly struck his first Sheffield United goal in just under four-years, and it was a goal to savor, despite a slight deflection. The stand-in captain replaced Chris Morgan in the skippering duties on Tuesday, and his poised to do so again at Doncaster this weekend. Speaking on the team performance in midweek against play-off rivals Blackpool, he said: "It's vitally important to keep winning at home, especially with us only picking up a point on Saturday. If we can sort out our away form we have a chance of making the play-offs. "Tuesday night's game was enjoyable to play in, and hopefully it was enjoyable for the fans to watch." Speaking on his goal, he said: "It's been a long time coming. Henri Camara pulled it back sweetly for me and I managed to put it into the bottom-corner. I think there was a tiny deflection, but the 'keeper wouldn't have saved it anyway," he joked. "It's not my job to score, but it's always nice if you do. Hopefully I can get a couple more goals before the end of the season. Scoring goals isn't something that's on my mind, though - we have strikers to do that, and my job is to help the back four at the other end. "I'm delighted to get the goal, but most importantly the three points." The image used on this article is copyright to Action Images
