Montgomery keeps Blades focus

The Bramall Lane club moved up to fifth in the Championship after their 2-1 win over promotion rivals Birmingham on Sunday.[LNB]It was a welcome victory after a run of just one win in five league games had threatened to derail their challenge and they will visit Coventry on Wednesday with renewed confidence.[LNB]Montgomery was a vital member of the midfield getting through a prodigious amount of work to enable the likes of David Cotterill to get forward.[LNB]The 27-year-old attracts praise and criticism alike but he insists he is solely focused on doing his job and told the club's official website: "To be fair I get used to the praise and then the abuse so I tend not to listen to either.[LNB]"Personally, I am just trying to be consistent like I have been since returning to the team.[LNB]"I know what I am in the team to do. We play with a lot of attacking players: you only have to look at Cotts (David Cotterill), (Greg) Halford and (Danny) Webber when they play out wide, whilst Quinny (Stephen Quinn) likes to go forward.[LNB]"That means I have to help the defence try to maintain their impressive record, and although it would be lovely to chip in with a goal or two the main priority is getting a number of wins together and keeping in the mix."[LNB][LNB]
