Danny Wilson has drafted in Wolves winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing on a 6-month loan deal, just 24 hours before United kickstart their League One campaign... The options out wide at Danny Wilson's disposal have been boosted by the signing of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing. The 19-year-old had a successful loan spell at Peterborough United last season, appearing 39 times in all competitions for Posh. Laing was part of Darren Ferguson's side which gained promotion to the Championship, something which United are wanting to replicate this year. Despite being 19, his experience of getting promoted out of this league can be valuable to the Blades, and Danny Wilson is fully aware of the talents he possesses. He said: "He is just what we need right now. "Nathaniel is strong, fast and will be a good addition to our squad as we look to make a powerful start." Peterborough intended to get the Wolves midfielder back to London Road on a permanent, but the deal fell through, with Mandez-Laing saying the move "just wasn't right" for him. Speaking about the move to Bramall Lane on his Twitter account, he said: "I'm looking forward to my time here. Let's get this season going!!!!!!" Image copyright to Action Images
