McCabe hopes for Adams decision soon
Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe hopes to decide on manager Micky Adams' future by the end of the week.
McCabe, who relinquished his role as football club chairman in December and has invested £70million of his own fortune into the club, has already apologised to fans for the Blades' relegation to npower League One.
Adams replaced Gary Speed as Blades manager in December but had to wait 14 games for his first win and has tasted success only four times in 24 matches before relegation was confirmed 10 days ago.
McCabe, who has flown in from his home in Brussels to help restructure the club, said: "I've had a good session with Micky this morning talking through the whys and wherefores of what's happened and also talking through his thoughts and views on League One, the players we've got, their attributes and the youngsters.
"A decision of reshaping the club generally will be made in the next few days, but that's looking at all aspects of our club business. Whether we like it or not we know we're in League One now and we got to adjust to the constraints of revenue that go with that.
"I've not had chance to speak to Micky one-to-one for many weeks because I don't live in the UK. It's been the first opportunity to sit down and throw a ball about. He's a good manager, a very honourable man and works extremely hard and has inherited a squad here that was probably more difficult for him to work with than he envisaged when he joined."
