Marcus Tudgay clinched the Owls' second win over the Blades this season with a stunning first-half strike and Laws insists a famous victory can only help new chairman Lee Strafford lift the club out of the Championship doldrums.[LNB]Tommy Spurr ensured an explosive start to the 123rd Steel City derby when he lashed home Michael Gray's cross inside the first minute.[LNB]Arturo Lupoli levelled for the Blades on his debut three minutes later, heading in off the crossbar after Greg Halford had launched a throw-in into the penalty area.[LNB]But Tudgay's 29th-minute wonder-strike clinched it for the Owls, who hope to celebrate again next month with Strafford expected to announce a huge cash investment in the club.[LNB]Laws said: "It's worth celebrating isn't it after a 95-year gap?[LNB]"I'm very proud of the players and the supporters. They haven't had a lot to shout about, but when we win these games it makes up for a lot.[LNB]"It's something we can give back to the supporters and particularly with the new regime, the way things are going, the feelgood factor was epitomised today.[LNB]"I'm delighted for everybody concerned. It's not just about the new directors, or the chairman, it's about everybody who works for Sheffield Wednesday.[LNB]"They have been down in the dumps for a fair few years and one thing that means a lot to them is these games.[LNB]"This is a special game. You throw the formbooks out of the window, it's about two teams coming together and it can be a war at times."[LNB]Laws described Tudgay's strike as worthy of winning any game, but revealed the striker had not impressed him this week in training.[LNB]Laws added: "He was shocking in training this week with his finishing, so I didn't see that one coming.[LNB]"But he just seems to have that special goal in him on these occasions and I think he epitomises this football club.[LNB]"His work ethic up front was unbelievable. He never gave their defenders a minute's rest."[LNB]Laws also paid tribute to midfielder James O'Connor.[LNB]He said: "I'm absolutely delighted for James. He was as good as anybody else in that midfield.[LNB]"It was touch and go, he rang me last night to tell me his wife has been induced and we didn't know whether he was going to be here today. He has driven off very quickly with a massive smile on his face."[LNB]Blades manager Kevin Blackwell claimed his side did not have any luck in a game they dominated in terms of possession.[LNB]He said: "You need things to break for you in a derby game that's for sure, and those were two great strikes for them.[LNB]"If you're going to lose a game, I have to say Tudgay's goal was world class, but it meant that they could shut up shop to a degree and frustrate us.[LNB]"But we had enough of the ball and we had enough chances as well to have got something out of the game, but sadly we didn't do it.[LNB]"But I'm not going to criticise these players. They have been fantastic since I've been here and I cannot complain."[LNB][LNB]
