Kyle Walker - once a Blade always a Blade

Former Blades player and current Aston Villa defender Kyle Walker doesn't hide the fact that he's still an ardent Unitedite... The 20-year-old, who was included in Fabio Capello's England squad for the Three Lions' friendly against Denmark last month, was a spectator at Wednesday night's FA Youth Cup Semi-Final First-Leg between Aston Villa and Sheffield United at Villa Park, a result which ended 0:1 to the Blades. Walker, on loan at the Villans from Tottenham Hotspur, hinted that he'd prefer the Blades progressing to the final rather than Villa, and that he will always remain a Blade. The SUFC Academy product said: "My allegiances are a bit of both sides really, but I'm a Blades fan, but I'm on loan at Villa, so you have to keep it to a minimum on who you're biased for." But the former Blades favourite confessed: "Let the scoreline stay as it is (Villa 0:1 Blades)! "I'll try to get to the Lane to watch the return leg (6th April) because I'm a Sheffield United fan and I still know some of the boys playing here. "If WE (SUFC) get to the final I'll definitely be at that! "I'm a Sheffield United fan so I find it hard not to call us 'we', so I wish all the lads the best." Speaking about his own career, which has really took off, he said: "I'm grateful for the chance QPR and Neil Warnock gave me, and I never thought I'd be playing at Villa Park two years ago!" In terms of the England picture, he finished: "I've been called up to the Under 21's so I'm concentrating on that. "Hopefully there's time to come for the full England squad but if I do get that far then it's a bonus and an honour to play for your country." Images copyright to Action Images
