New acquisition Johnny Ertl has vowed to learn the lyrics of the club's anthem the 'Greasy Chip Butty'... Johnny Ertl is over the moon with this move to Sheffield United, it seems. The former Palace player has promised that he will learn the words of United's 'Greasy Chip Butty' song. To play in front of crowds just under the 30,000 mark excites Ertl, 27. He said: "I'm delighted to have joined Sheffield United, it is a club with a big history, tradition and character," said the 27-year-old. "I know about United from my time in England and also what I've read. "I already know about the Greasy Chip Buttie song, I heard it when I played at Bramall Lane and I will learn it when I come back from my holiday in Austria - I've got to learn it because it is part of the history of the club." He added: "I've spoken to people since they heard about my move to United and they have said some great things about the club and city, I can't wait to get started. I've had a good look around the ground and the facilities and this is a big club. "The support at Bramall Lane is second to none, almost 30,000 for every home match is fantastic and the passion and enthusiasm of the supporters is one of the main reasons why I wanted to stay in England. I'm delighted everything is sorted and I'm going to be a Blade. "I had a good time at Palace but I see this as a great opportunity to reach my goal - winning promotion to the Premiership. The chances are really good for us, there is a good mood at the club and I want to be part of it." How refreshing! The image used on this article is copyright to Action Images and SportBox.TV
