Howard: Put me on the spot

22 May 2009 11:12
The Blades midfielder has a reputation as a big-match player and will not hide if asked to take a spotkick in the end-of-season showdown with Burnley. He told the Football League podcast: "Anyone that knows me knows that I'm a confident lad and I don't mind a bit of the limelight here and there and I wouldn't mind taking the penalty that gets us there. "I'm confident in my own ability that I could do it and I've got, without cursing myself, a 100% record in my career, so I'll be feeling confident of taking that penalty." Howard, a League One play-off final winner with Barnsley in 2006, believes victory in the annual showdown is the best way to go up. He added: "If any player was going to get promoted and they were guaranteed to go up through the play-offs then I think it's the best way to do it, but it's the worst way to lose." Sheff. Utd. v Burnley Method of Victory: Sheff. Utd. on penalties 14/1
