The 26-year-old must serve a two-match ban following his 10th booking of the season as the Blades seek to leapfrog second-placed Birmingham and climb into the automatic promotion places in the final three matches of the campaign. Howard moved to Bramall Lane from Yorkshire rivals Barnsley, initially on loan in October before making the switch permanent in January, and has made 26 Championship appearances for United. Now the midfielder hopes Kevin Blackwell's side can carry the momentum from their 11-game unbeaten run and clinch a place in the top flight and ease his personal troubles. Howard told the club's official website: "This season has been really frustrating, even before I came here. It has been stop start all the way through but promotion would make it all worthwhile."
