Evans in as Blades seal triple deal

United manager Kevin Blackwell has finally got Evans after a summer-long chase, with the striker putting pen to paper on a three-year deal, while former Hull defender Ryan France has signed a two-year deal and Blackburn winger Keith Treacy has joined on loan until January. Blackwell said: "Evans is a young striker and we are delighted to have won the race for him because there was significant interest in him from two Premiership clubs and two from the Championship. "We think the lad has a bright future and felt it was only right to invest some of the money from the sale of two of our star youngsters into the signing of another. "He is still maturing, still learning the game, so there is more developmental mileage in him which will benefit this club in the long term as well. "With plenty of first-team experience for City in the UEFA Cup last season he is an exciting prospect and City were reluctant to let him go."
