Rumours circulating that a deal has been struck with Barnsley and their striker Daniel Bogdanovic are incorrect at this moment, affirm the Blades... The Blades have confirmed they are close to striking a deal with  Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic and stress he is still in talks but hasn't signed just yet. The club said: 'Reports that Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic has signed for the Blades are premature. The Maltese International, who lives in Sheffield, is out of contract at Oakwell this summer and is considering his options. United do confirm that they are currently holding negotiations with Bogdanovic and moving closer to an agreement.' Bogdanovic, a Maltese international, is currently weighing up his options whilst on a summer break. The 30-year-old has made 26 appearances for Malta to date, however, the forward was actually born in Lybia. If indeed the striker does join the Blades it would be an interesting move on the wages front. The Maltese Tourism Authority, United's main club sponsor, are said to have agreed to pay a certain percentage of Bogdanovic's wages. Rumours suggest the percentage is around 75%. Newly promoted Leeds United are also said to be keeping their tabs on Bogdanovic, but it seems likely a contract with Sheffield United will be rubber stamped imminently.
