Boss still trying

Gary Speed has reaffirmed his efforts to bring in fresh faces on loan to bolster the current squad... Loans in a couple of positions would no doubt be a boost to Sheffield United's squad, and after seeing Manchester United's Ritchie De Laet return to Old Trafford, Speed is still seeking his and others' services on a temporary basis. The Blades currently have three players on loan at the club; Kyle Bartley from Arsenal, Nyron Nosworthy from Sunderland and Jean Calve from AS Nancy. Teams are allowed as many loans as they need, but are only permitted to field five of the loanees at any one time. Speed updates fans on his attempts to bring in new faces, and has said in the past that he is also eyeing permanent moves in January when the transfer window re-opens and, most important of all, the Welshman HASN'T been told that money is unavailable to him for acquisitions. He explained: "We are trying but nothing is happening at the moment. I haven't been told that money is unavailable, and the process is that should I identify somebody to bring in then the powers that be will decide. "That is my job, and if I can find somebody I want I will knock on the door and see what happens." The image used on this article is copyright to Action Images and SportBox.TV
