Boss bemoans Montgomery misery

Blackwell was relieved midfielder Montgomery, an ever-present in the Championship this season, had suffered medial knee ligament damage against Doncaster on Saturday instead of a potentially season-ending cruciate ligament injury. But Blackwell said: "It's just disappointing to have lost him at all. "He's going to be out for the next couple of months and hopefully we'll have him back in early December. "It could have been worse, so we're grateful for small blessings, but it's a big blow considering the other injuries in our squad at the moment." Jamie Ward (broken wrist), Lee Williamson (back), Matt Kilgallon (ankle), Derek Geary, Gary Naysmith (both knee) and Paddy Kenny (drugs ban) are all currently sidelined.
