It could be a battle of South versus West as both Sheffield United and Leeds United chase the signature of Barnsley forward Daniel Bogdanovic. Bogdanovic, 30 is to be released by Barnsley when his contract expires this summer, leaving the Maltese international without a club and demand any transfer fees. The forward signed for the Tykes in January 2009, making the move from Locomotive Sofia - he scored on his debut in a 2-1 home defeat to the hands of Ipswich Town and has since made 36 (+13) appearances and scored 19 goals for the Oakwell club. It is common knowledge that the Maltese national has held talks with Sheffield United and will decide his future soon - however it has emerged that newly promoted Leeds United are also interested in making an offer.
