The Blades missed out on automatic promotion by just three points before their 1-0 Wembley defeat but the 31-year-old was full of praise for his team's character and resilience. He told the club's official website: "We have got to be proud at finishing third and going into the last game of the league season with a chance of automatic promotion. "We didn't achieve exactly what we wanted and fell at the last hurdle but the fans saw that we gave it a right go and you can't complain too much at how close we actually got on two occasions. "A lot of things were thrown at us which tested us at times but when they were you saw our character and resilience in getting results like those at Reading and then at home against Swansea which stick in the mind. We stayed in with a shout throughout the campaign."
