Sheffield United have recalled midfielder Jordon Chappell from his loan spell with League Two outfit Torquay United.

Chappell, 21 was due to be included in the Gulls relegation six-pointer against follow strugglers Barnet on Saturday but has been recalled by parent club Sheffield United to bolster there squad ahead of the BIG promotion push.

"Sheffield United have recalled Jordan and we have to be pleased for him as a player," said Torquay manager Alan Knill.

"I spoke to Chris Morgan [Sheffield United’s new caretaker boss] and his thoughts are to play Jordan.

"We had no whiff this would happen but things change at football club. Danny Wilson left Sheffield United last night and Chris has taken over, and he’s a fan of Jordan, so it’s one of those things."

He played just six times during his spell at Plainmoor.
