Blades fans await fixtures announcement
All 92 clubs will discover who they will face on particular dates throughout the season on Friday when the 2011/2012 fixture lists are revealed... Perhaps Blades fans may not be eagerly anticipating the revealing of next season's fixtures as much as recent years, with teams such as Exeter, Yeovil and Tranmere included on United's opponents list. Arguably, the only real stand out fixture on the itinerary when it is revealed will of course be the Steel City Derby. It will intriguing to see when the Blades face arch rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough, as well as the other local affair with Chesterfield. A curtain raiser and a season closer at Bramall Lane this season wouldn't go amiss. United have played away on the first and last games of the season for the past three seasons! The fixtures are published on Friday 17th June at 9:00AM. Meanwhile, the First Round draw for the Carling Cup is made 24 hours earlier on the 16th.
