Blades face Pools again
Danny Wilson will lead his troops to one of his former clubs, Hartlepool United, in the First Round of next season's Carling Cup... The Blades have been paired with the Monkey Hangers for the second season running at this stage of the League Cup. Incidentally, Hartlepool dumped United out of the competition in that tie after goals from James Brown and Adam Boyd saw them victorious by two goals to nil. The disappointing loss to Pools almost a year ago set the tone for what was to be a disastrous season, with the game being Kevin Blackwell's penultimate one in charge of the club after receiving the sack after the next league game. It'll now be the first of two trips to Victoria Park, as the Blades entertain Mick Wadsworth's men in their league campaign also. Image copyright to Action Images
