The Blades overcame Scunthorpe United in round one - beating the Iron on penalties at their Glanford Park ground and have now earned a tie against North-East side Hartlepool United, whom like the Iron were relegated from League One last season despite a brave battle to stave away from the drop.
Whilst no official announcement has been made the game is likley to take place on Tuesday, 8 October.
Northern section:

Southend United v Dagenham & Redbridge; Peterborough United v Brentford; Stevenage v MK Dons; Leyton Orient v Coventry City; Oxford United v Portsmouth; Swindon Town v Plymouth Argyle; Wycombe Wanderers v Bristol City; Crawley Town v Newport County.
