Blades boss scoops March accolade

Sheffield United boss Blackwell scooped the award ahead of fellow nominees Gunn (Norwich), Coyle (Burnley) and McCarthy (Wolves) after leading his side closer to securing a play-off place.[LNB]The Blades, who have climbed to fourth place in recent weeks, have won four and drawn two of their six league matches during March.[LNB]A home win over second-placed Birmingham City was followed up with success at Coventry and after consecutive draws against QPR and Blackpool, Blackwell's side stepped up their promotion push with victories over Derby and Cardiff.[LNB]Blackwell, former assistant to Neil Warnock at Bramall Lane before moving on to coach at Leeds in 2003 - he was later appointed manager at Elland Road - returned to take sole charge of the Blades' first team in February last year following the departure of Bryan Robson.[LNB][LNB]
