Blades away first and last games AGAIN!

Today's published fixture lists sees Danny Wilson's Sheffield United tackle Oldham and Exeter on their patches on the first and last games of the season... United face a trip across the Pennines to Boundary Park for the 2011/2012 curtain raiser, whilst one of the longest trips of the season to Exeter will be made on the final game. It is now the FOURTH SEASON RUNNING United have been made to play away for the first and last fixtures of the season. The eagerly anticipated Steel City Derbies will take place in October and February, with Bramall Lane set to host the first on the 15th of October, and the return fixture at Hillsborough on the 25th of February, both 3:00pm Saturday kick-offs, although both are subject to change with TV and police demands. United are at home on Boxing Day to Notts County, whilst the first away trip in midweek is at Carlisle, with a 7:45pm kick-off on Monday 2nd of January. The first home game of the season sees us face Uwe Rosler's Brentford, whilst the last home game of the season is against newly promoted Stevenage. Also, the Blades will face neighbours Chesterfield away in November and at home in March.
