Blades: Appeal down to player

10 September 2009 15:35
Blackwell has confirmed the Blades are in no position to consider an appeal and although the goalkeeper is still being paid by United, the decision is Kenny's once he has consulted his lawyers. Blackwell said: "The next step is for Paddy to speak to his representatives after they have received and discussed the summary of the case and findings from the FA. "They will then decide whether to make an appeal." Kenny has been suspended for nine months by the Football Association for testing positive for the banned substance ephedrine in May despite the hearing accepting the 31-year-old's claim he unwittingly took cold remedy tablets bought at a chemist to help with a chest infection.
