Blackwell reveals Howard illness

The playmaker started the Blades' clash with Leicester on Tuesday but after an ineffective first half he was withdrawn at the interval, with boss Kevin Blackwell revealing after the 1-1 draw that he had come down with the illness. "It must have developed (during the game). He had no energy," said Blackwell, who admitted he was not aware of the problem before kick-off. "I was harsh with him, I wanted to know why he was off the pace in the first half. It was only when the doctor came in at half-time that we had to isolate him and get him out of the dressing room. "It clearly took it out of him, so it's about how quickly he can get it out of his system and how quickly he can get his energy back."
