Blackwell: Lee the first of many

Blackwell hopes the capture of former Rotherham midfielder Williamson from Watford will signal an influx of new talent to Bramall Lane as the club look to bounce back from last month's play-off final defeat. Blackwell said: "He could be the first of four or five new signings. We're well down the road in our negotiations for several others, so let's hope he's the first of many. "We're delighted to get Lee. He's a lad we've targeted for a while. He did extremely well at Preston (on loan) and we've won the race to bring him here because other clubs had also shown interest in him. He wanted to come to Sheffield United. "He can play out wide or down the middle and is a box-to-box midfielder who also has an eye for goal." Blackwell is keen on bringing John Joe O'Toole, a former team-mate of Williamson's at Watford, back to Bramall Lane after his successful loan spell last season and has also been linked with Manchester City striker Ched Evans and West Ham's England Under-19 international Kyel Reid.
