Blackwell happy with his squad
The 20-year-old moved to Tottenham along with fellow defender Kyle Walker, who has now returned to Bramall Lane on a season-long loan deal.
While Blackwell did not want to sell two of his brightest prospects, he believes his summer recruitment will help the team cope.
He told Sky Sports News: "Losing good players is always difficult and any manager will tell you not only do you want to keep your best players, you want to add to it so it was a blow to lose them.
But I get Kyle Walker back for another year, so that's terrific.
"We've brought some good players in as well. Ched Evans is a very good signing along with (Lee) Williamson and (Kyel) Reid, Glen Little and people like these who are proven at Championship level and just add to the quality of the squad overall."
