Blackwell hails Cresswell show

Kevin Blackwell had words of praise for latest loan signing Richard Cresswell after the Stoke striker's goalscoring home league debut against Doncaster. Cresswell, booed by some Blades fans when making his first appearance last Tuesday after joining on a three-month loan deal, silenced the doubters with a second-half equaliser on Saturday. Blackwell said: "I've known Cressy, I've had him before at Leeds. He's strong and he never gives up. "It was a very brave goal he scored at the back post, that's for sure. He only turned up at four o'clock when he arrived here and has done one-and-a-half days' training with the players. "Without Keith Treacy being as fit as I wanted him, it was a case of putting Cressy on the left and thankfully it came off."
