Blackwell: Cup run won't fund deals

12 January 2010 15:12
Blackwell, whose side bowed out after a fifth-round replay at Hull last season, is keen to strengthen his squad but accepts any cash generated from the cup would be too late to boost his playing staff now.[LNB]The former Leeds and Luton boss said: "The problem with that is you have to progress a long way in the cup to earn big money and by then the transfer window has closed, so you need to win it before the end of January.[LNB]"Of course, I want to win it because we all want to win every game. My win ratio here is back up towards 50% again and if we can continue like that we are in for a good second half of the season."[LNB][LNB]
