Sevilla ace proud of debut

Sevilla winger Jesus Navas has expressed his delight at representing his country for the first time during Spain's 2-1 win against Argentina at the weekend.

The in-form wideman made his debut, coming on in the 81st minute during the hotly-contested friendly played in Madrid.

He also claimed that he has a job to prove coach Vicente del Bosque that he is worthy of a place on the plane to next summer's World Cup in South Africa.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "What I must do now is to take the maximum from the games for my team, Sevilla, and the national team.

"Right now I'm proud to have debuted with Spain. The rest will come gradually."
