Romaric fighting for first-team place

Seville midfielder Koffi Ndri Romaric is prepared to stay at the club and fight for his place in the team under new manager Gregorio Manzano despite criticism from their fans.

The Ivorian put in a fine performance during Sunday's 4-3 success over Athletic Bilbao and he now wants to build from his display and earn a regular first-team berth.

"Sunday's game should never be forgotten, but people tend to think in the present and not in the past," he said.

"The coach is giving me great confidence and has changed my way of life a little, for I am with my family, my girlfriend and my son, and I feel good. I've always trusted my ability, so I've never let my head drop.

"Despite all the criticism I've received, I have always wanted the ball, because I have no fear and that is because I want to play, and if I play, I have to get the ball."
