Palop cools early title talk

Goalkeeper Andres Palop has cooled expectations that Sevilla could win the La Liga title this season.

The Andalucian club are currently third in the fledgling table following an impressive start to the new season, but Palop claims it is too early to consider winning their first league title since the 1940s.

"Nobody has said that we are champions and to think like that after six matches is a mistake," he claimed.

"We have a good team and good back-ups in all positions and the objective is to reach the heights of the recent years and compete in the top four.

"We do not think about the title when we come to train, but rather about our next opponents."
