New contract for Perotti

Midfielder Diego Perotti has ended speculation that he will leave Sevilla in January by signing an extension to his contract with the Andalucian club.

Reports had linked the talented Argentine with a move to a bigger European club, with Arsenal and Real Madrid among those mentioned, but the 21-year-old hopes his new deal will allow him to concentrate on Sevilla, who are third in La Liga.

"I'm very happy. This is something that has been coming for a while. Seville have been very good to me from day one." Perotti told AS.

"Everything has gone very fast, the club trusted in me at a time when very few had done so.

(Coach Manolo) Jimenez gave me the opportunity to be where I am today and will always be grateful to Sevilla."
