Negredo enjoys Spain success

Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo is hopeful of forcing his way into Spain's squad for next summer's World Cup finals, after scoring twice on his full debut for the national team.

The 24-year-old netted a brace in the 5-2 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina, having made his debut as a substitute in the weekend clash with Armenia.

Negredo told AS: "It was an important game for me. I was given the opportunity, I had to take advantage of it and I've done that.

"I've linked up well with my team-mates and I'm happy. I've had the fortune to score two goals and I'm very happy for this day.

"Vicente Del Bosque has congratulated me and told me that I did a good job.

"Now I have to work very hard to be able to go to the World Cup. With hard work and humility I want to achieve it all."
