Jimenez: Sevilla exit disastrous

Sevilla head coach Manolo Jimenez admitted that his side's exit from the Champions League at the hands of CSKA Moscow was 'disastrous'.

A shock 2-1 reverse in the Sanchez Pizjuan saw the Rojiblancos lose out 3-2 on aggregate and miss out on becoming the first Spanish side to reach the quarter-finals this season.

A downbeat Jimenez told uefa.com: "The result is disastrous and we can only apologise to our fans.

"We invested so much in this tie. I am the only one responsible for what has happened here and I'll repeat that as many times as I need to.

"CSKA are a very good team, they waited for their chances despite technically being behind in the tie at the start.

"This is the type of difficult game you come up against in difficult competitions."
