Escude extends Sevilla stay

Sevilla's French defender Julien Escude has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Sanchez Pizjuan until the summer of 2013.

The 31-year-old's current deal was set to run out at the end of next season, but Escude has now added a further two years to his contract, having moved to Spain from Ajax in January 2006.

Meanwhile, Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido is confident that both Brazil striker Luis Fabiano and Spain winger Jesus Navas will follow Escude in agreeing new deals in the next few weeks.

He commented: "The key theme of September will be the contract extensions of Jesus Navas and Luis Fabiano.

"Everything is planned well and we are within budget."
