Seattle Sounders missed out on the chance to strengthen their MLS play-off hopes as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Houston Dynamo.
The Sounders, who occupy fifth position in the Western Conference, had the majority of the play, firing in 16 shots, but could not find the breakthrough against the bottom club.
Their chances were harmed midway through the second half when Osvaldo Alonso saw red after a scuffle with Will Bruin.
