Wright commits to the Iron

Defender Andrew Wright has ended any uncertainty over his future by penning a new 18-month contract with Scunthorpe United.

Wright has started the last six games for the Iron and they appeared to come just in time, as his current deal was due to expire this month.

The Liverpudlian had previously failed to start a single game for the Iron, despite signing this time last year.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have finally got it sorted."

"Hopefully I can push on from here and become a better player," he added, as he aims to cement his place as a regular starter for Nigel Adkins' side, who currently lie in sixth place in League One.

Meanwhile, Peter Winn is set to return to the club following a three-month loan spell at Blue Square Premier side Northwich Victoria.
