Swans' antics anger Adkins

Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has hit back at his Swansea City counterpart Paulo Sousa following the controversial Carling Cup second round clash between the two sides.

The Swans had three players sent off but Sousa intimated after the match that he thought Scunthorpe had provoked his side.

Adkins was quick to respond though, saying: "I was very pleased with the discipline of our players.

"Monk got sent off for head-butting Michael O'Connor. The discipline of the Swansea players after that was very poor and it cost them dearly.

"The referee was left no option on any of the reds. They are an excellent passing side and they don't need to do it. I was very disappointed with their antics."
