    Sharp to consider options

    30 May 2007 - 11:51:43

Billy Sharp's agent, Imre Varadi, claims his client is happy at Scunthorpe United, but will consider his future at the club during the summer.

The Iron have already rejected a £1.5million approach from Sheffield Wednesday for their 32-goal leading scorer last term, while Preston North End and Norwich City have also made their interest known.

Boss Nigel Adkins is desperate to keep Sharp at the club, but Varadi has revealed his client will consider his options during the close season.

"There is a great deal of interest at the moment as you can imagine," he told the club's official website. "It is a very exciting time for everyone concerned.

"He is very happy at Scunthorpe but we will be having a look at the situation over the summer."

Sharp himself added: "It's really flattering to hear clubs are interested, but I've not sat down with my mum and dad yet to talk about Scunthorpe's new offer.

"I still had a year to run on my contract, but they have scrapped that and offered me another two years.

"I'll go away and decide what's going to happen when I come back.

"It's great that clubs are interested and if the right club comes in I'd like to speak to them."
