Sears blow for Scunny

Scunthorpe have been dealt a blow ahead of the visit of Preston after on-loan striker Freddie Sears was recalled by parent club West Ham.Sears had been expected to stay at Glanford Park until January 3 but Hammers manager Avram Grant has decided to terminate the 21-year-old's loan in the hope he can add some firepower to his squad as he looks to drag his team off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League. However, defender David Mirfin will return from a foot injury while Josh Wright, Michael O'Connor and Chris Dagnall have shaken off viruses.Defensive trio Michael Raynes (thigh), Jim McNulty (ankle) and Niall Canavan (knee) remain sidelined while Jonathan Forte should come in for Sears.
