Raynes has point to prove

Scunthorpe defender Michael Raynes admits it will take him time to adjust to life in the Championship. The 22-year-old was a deadline-day signing from Stockport but he is yet to make his Iron bow. However, with Cliff Byrne and Marcus Williams banned for Saturday's trip to Leicester and Brendan Moloney injured, Raynes could be handed his first appearance at the Walkers Stadium."Just from what I've learned in training while I've been here I know the standard is a big step up from Stockport if I'm honest," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph."It's going to take me a while to get used to it and to get my legs but I'm relishing the challenge. I think competition will bring the best out of me and I'm hoping it can take me to the next level."I want to establish myself as a Championship player. Some people have doubted whether I can do that but I'm determined to prove them wrong."
