New Iron deal for forward Forte

Scunthorpe United striker Jonathan Forte has signed a new one-year deal with Nigel Adkins' side.

The 23-year-old former Sheffield United forward has been at Glanford Park for the last three seasons, scoring seven times in 31 starts and 59 appearances from the substitute's bench for the Iron.

Forte featured in 39 games for the Blades and also had spells on loan with Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United before signing a permanent deal with Scunthorpe in the summer of 2007.

He also had a productive loan spell at Notts County during the 2008-09 campaign, scoring eight goals in 18 appearances for the Magpies.
