Mirfin completes Iron switch

Scunthorpe United have completed the signing of defender David Mirfin from Huddersfield Town in a £150,000 deal.

The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Glanford Park, having spent the whole of his career to date with the Terriers.

Mirfin told his new club's official website: "Stan Ternent, my boss at Huddersfield, told me of their interest last week and I came down straight away to meet up with Nigel Adkins and discuss the move.

"This club really wants to go places and after hearing what they had to say, I wanted to sign as soon as possible.

"I'm delighted to join an ambitious club like this, which wants to win promotion from the division.

"Speaking to the manager, he sold the club to me and I want to be part of what they're trying to achieve here."
